Introduction to Film-faced plywood
1.Film-faced plywood is an engineered plywood covered with a resin-treated film. It has a smooth surface and features moisture resistance, wear resistance, and chemical corrosion resistance, making it suitable for concrete formwork and outdoor scenarios. Its surface is covered with a waterproof film, and WBP glue is used between layers. Though not 100% waterproof, it can maintain good waterproof performance in humid environments when properly sealed.
2.In construction, it is mainly used as concrete formwork. Its smooth and durable surface can prevent concrete from sticking, allowing for repeated use. High-grade products can be reused up to 10-15 times in concrete pouring projects, and proper cleaning and storage after each use can extend their service life. Additionally, it can be used for making floors, scaffolding, truck bodies, and outdoor furniture frames.
3.The common thickness ranges from 9mm to 21mm, with 18mm being the most widely used in the construction industry. Thicker panels can provide higher strength and support for heavy-duty applications such as formwork and floors.
Main Core Material
Film-faced plywood mainly offers four types of core materials: poplar core, eucalyptus core, birch core, or spliced core, based on differences in wood grain, hardness, and customers’ personalized needs. In addition, the color and texture of the surface lamination are adjusted according to different environmental requirements, functional purposes, and application scenarios to ensure that various needs are met.
